Brief Information

As a qualified Agronomist and Practicing Lecturer, I possess the knowledge and skills to plan, teach and evaluate students in recommended courses within the University Academic Curriculum. I am also capable of conducting research and make informed decisions with regard to agricultural production and its impact on social-economic activity in Kenya. This is evidenced by Publication of my work in Peer Refereed Journals and Presentations at local and international conferences. The areas of work I have been involved include, Full Time Lecturing at Kibabii University, Faculty of Science, Department of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences and Part Time at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology’s School of Agriculture and Veterinary Technology and in the last four years. I am currently involved in field surveys and documentation on the occurrence of Yellow aphid (Sifa flava) in sugarcane. I have previously evaluated and recommended cost effective technologies for sugarcane yield and productivity improvement in the sugar zone of western Kenya. I have widely traveled and gained hands on experience in agricultural management from countries like Australia, Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Israel, Mauritius, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, United Kingdom, U.S.A and Zimbabwe. I hold current membership with the Kenya, East Africa and International Societies of Sugarcane Technologists and the Professional Trainers Association of Kenya (PTAK). I seek to work productively in an institution that provides a supporting and challenging environment for its employees while developing them career wise. I aspire to be a Career Scientist involved in Agricultural Research and Technology transfer.
